👋 I have some great news for Obsidian Git!
The by far most requested issue with 86 upvotes on GitHub is mobile support. There have been many comments on the issue suggesting alternatives like GitJournal and Working Copy. These work by themselves very good, but it’s always a pain point to have to use another third party app.
I’ve had a working prototype like 1,5 years ago, but some APIs from Obsidian were missing, and it wasn’t quite ready.
Now, after finishing school, I’ve finally had the time to continue development.
The mobile version uses a reimplementation of Git in JavaScript, so it doesn’t use your system one, even on Desktop. I did my absolute best, to maximize performance. The only really time-consuming task is checking the whole working directory for changes. I’ve published some benchmarking on the README.
You can update Obsidian to 2.0.0 now! Please read the README on how to properly clone an existing repository.
Simultaneously, we crossed 2k stars on GitHub!

Lastly, I want to thank you for your patience and Warren for supporting me in the development.
If you want to support me and the plugin’s development, you can buy me some coffee here. 💜
