One year ago, I asked the author of the obsidian-git plugin about the future of his plugin, because of many open issues and stopped developing. To my surprising, he made me a collaborator of the GitHub repository. Now I was able to manage issues and continue development myself without his consent.
It was the 13th March 2021, v1.5.0 and 10k downloads, now one year later it’s version v1.24.0 with 100k downloads, the 11th most downloaded Obsidian plugin.
There are still some open issues, especially authentication problems, but over 150 issues could be resolved. There is even a collaboration with the Version History Diff plugin to allow a more detailed file versions comparison.
The most requested feature is of course mobile support, which I unfortunately still don’t have time for.
I’m curious how the development will go on. Last, I want to thank you for all the support previously on Buy Me A Coffee and now here for my plugins. I am very happy to be able to improve the workflow of so many users.
